The very picture of sadness...

Sinn Fein reps are the very picture of doleful regret at the death of TD Tony Gregory.

Adams refers to the painful blow of Gregory's death, and the SF press office/web guy uses the finest 'Friendly Gerry' picture to illustrate this:

'Gleaming choppers': Adams

Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin says that he is similarly upset. Alongside his statement of sympathy and sadness, the following has been published (and we think this captures Caoimhghín's sniggering beautifully):

'Sniggering twat': Ó Caoláin

PS. Always have a serious backup shot in the archive or publish the Party logo. For chrissakes never post up 'Gerry and Caoimhghín's Laughter Show' to commisserate with a family in mourning.

Hehe indeed, journo's have to have both a smiley and a stern looking by line pic to match all stories.

A heartfelt tribute piece can be rendered ridiculous by a beaming reporter beside it.

You'd think with the money those shinners got, this wouldn't be a problem, more investment in kodak and less in armani methinks

Actually, we're thinking of herding in the entire Staff at Bobballs (pictured above, right) to get a 'happy' shot done.

And we think it would make all the difference to our fearless reporting if we got some 'fearless' pics down to go alongside it. Just difficult to do 'fearless' with these masks on all the f****g time though.

Oh, make sure you do some really sad stories so we can see how stern you can be...

I'm way too much like small fry to have both a smiley and stern profile pic... I had to settle for one multi purpose taken unawares gormless stare

You're too modest Shuffling Geisha...

Why, it was only the other day that a Bobballs galley slave pointed out your byline and commented that the accompanying pic neatly captured 'the well-spiced eye of the determined observer replete in a veil of ironic detachment'.

Wasn't this the look you were going for?
